I learned how to look at things and situations in different ways. I was surprised at how much I like the class, and how much the class got along with each other. At first I thought it would be a bad idea to have a class room full of girls and not a boy insight, but it turned out a lot better than I expected. We got a chance to share our writing. I enjoyed reading the others girls writing, I had realized we had some very talented girls in our class. I think some of them should continue writing because they are good at it. One of the activities I really enjoyed was “My Power Word”. This project was to first pick out five words that describe us then use a thesaurus to make our word more powerful. The word I chose was loving then to make my word even powerful I chose the word affectionate.

We did projects that I didn’t really like so much as well. For example, “My Fairytale”, the first thought of me writing a story was not my choice of a good idea because I never wrote a fairytale before. The only writing I usually do has something that’s going on around me. It was a minor challenge, but I’m happy I did pull through with it and got a decent grade due to my attendance. Overall I enjoyed the class I hope the next creative writing class enjoys it as much as I did.

Some of the feed back that Ta’Shai gave me was that I should give more details as well as Sharis. My pervious teachers have also told me that, they say that I write in some kind of translation that not everyone can understand unless they were apart of the situation. It’s true because I am not one who gives everyone my life to talk about. I would rather give them a small part of me and have them thinking in between the lines trying to but the puzzle together. Although I may sometimes give a full situation, with a beginning middle and end, there’s always some of the story missing out of my writing. To me a true writer never gives the full or exact situation because that would take a lot of the true meaning and feeling out of it. Some people may not have ever thought of it that way but sometimes that’s what happens. I do appreciate all my reviews help although it wasn’t all relevant but thanks for your opinions anyway.

       I chose to compose a poetry “chap book”. I picked composing poetry over all the other categories because I am a good writer but I like writing poetry over a short story. I’m not a person who has a passion to write a script for a movie, or a play. I am a person who has a devoted passion for writing poetry. I have always had a talent of writing poetry since I was a little kid. I have won about four different contest for my poerty, I have attended many different progarms for my writing. I have also been published twice for two poem entries in a contest I won.  I am so proud of myself so I might continue my career as a writer, but I really want to become a lawyer or nurse.

            In my final project I plan to write poems with meaning. My poems will be apart of my everyday life, or how i may picture my life in the futrue. I have already began four of my rough drafts, and i’m making a lot of prgress. I’m having fun doing it, it is helping me deal with alot of stress and situations that I am dealing with so I’ll have my project all together on our due date. Overall I think that my project will be enjoyed by everyone or mostly everyone because some people can realte to what I write so check back because my Poerty Chap Book will be posted soon!

My power word I chose was affectionate, I chose affectionate because it describes me better than any other word that I thought of. I’m not a person who hates other people; I usually give others there props when it’s deserved. Right now as of May 12, 2009 the person that I’m highly affectionate about is my boyfriend. He has been there through thick and thin. Not everyone has someone like that, but I’m lucky I do. Being affectionate comes with a lot of things some good and bad. Good things such as having people love and care about you back, having people to be behind you to support you at all times, having a good characteristic background that everyone can always have a positive look on you or thought of you, etc… Bad things such as having people dislike you because you’re down to earth with everyone or maybe even closer to someone that they would like to be closer with so they get jealous, etc… Not everyone has was it takes to really be called an affectionate person, like myself, it’s a lot of hard work because you also have to be your self. That’s why I’m the type of person that doesn’t like to be like someone else, I’m like a glamorous odd ball I love to over due things to a certain limit.

My story would be different from others because no one can write the way I write. Nor can I write exactly like someone else. Some situations maybe similar to each other, but they won’t be exactly the same. My story won’t be for younger children, but for sixteen and mature because I may use inappropriate words, or adults situations. I would have an edited version for younger children though. I wouldn’t someone to waste their money on a a book that is half wroth what they paid for. I would give them their money’s wroth. I know I will be excited when i would find out that i was titled best-seller. I wouldn’t know what to do I would have a party to celebrate and a free give away to the first twenty five people.

My story was about a monster in my life that really affected me even up until now. My monster affected my school work, and my personality. I was beginning to hate the person, but I learned that you have to step up and be a bigger person. Being the bigger person I dealt with the situation, and learned to do what better for me before it’s too late. That’s why this helped me to resolve my own problems. I didn’t get a chance to share with one of my peers due to my absences.

I enjoyed writing the story though. It helped me released some of my anger, and understand a lot of things too about myself, and a few others. Just like Sean said in his song, “when you look into my eyes can you see my pain? Cause no one knows how it feels to be left out in the rain…” That’s how I feel, so it really helped me open up to what is really true to me. I don’t like writing stories, but I liked doing this one because it helped me out, outside of school.    

  Also, in this first two weeks I have really enjoyed this creative writing class. I thought we would be writing boring papers, and things like that, but really this class is more than just that. Its like a way to express yourself, but going deeper than you usually would. I learned that you can get alot out of writing. It wasn’t really told to us but it was like a given.
